The strength of Calligaris lies mainly in their products, a strength which increases constantly day after day. Their selection of dining sets, dining tables, dining chairs and bar furniture is unparalleled. The unique combination of quality, technology and style represents the recipe that attracts a diverse range of customers. The company is constantly developing new projects to suit the needs of today’s life, keeping functionality and taste as its most important characteristics. Their goal is to create products which will be chosen for their handiness, elegance and comfort.
Calligaris was founded in 1923, when Antonio Calligaris produced his very first chair -- the "Marocca" model. In the 1930's, Antonio passed the family-owned business onto his son, Romeo. After thirty years, Romeo Calligaris was ultimately able to develop his father's once small, Italian furniture store into an innovative, industry-leading company. Calligaris became so successful, that by the 1990's, the company began selling its products internationally, and expanded into four new countries, including the United States.
Today Calligaris continues its legacy as an industry leader. With a strong focus on technology and development, Calligaris still finds its most important resource is the people who develop and manufacture its products, enabling the company to stay at the forefront of the furniture industry. The results of this are found in the “freedom of living” concept, which emphasizes extreme versatility and functionality. This allows the consumer to shape their living space to exactly their specifications.

[...]. Pieces looked good quality. Screws do not fit to assemble. Frustrated. Will go to [...]to find correct size screws. Won't return. Did no one check that screws don't fit before sending out???
The design and materials of this counterstool just finished off our kitchen beautifully.
They are comfortable, light and perfect!
Swivel is a bit difficult to use but it was not a selling point of the product for us...just a bonus.
We love these. We have the "counter" height model and use them at our kitchen island. We selected the wenge color seat with stainless steel legs. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of, was the black rubber strap where your feet are supposed to rest. Luckily, it simply "snaps off" for a more stylish appearance (no grubby little kids' feet here...). Fabulous. An unexpected bonus was that these are pretty "minimal" in terms of the space/volume that they take up. When nudged under the granite counter ledge, they nearly "disappear" yet when pulled out, they make a strong design statement without taking a lot of room. Kudos to Allbarstools.com -- [...] These were easy to assemble and they modern style belies an inexpensive price.
The swivel mechanism for this stool is very poorly designed. As soon as someone sits on it, their weight prevents the stool from swiveling because of where the bearing ring is placed. Also, the screw that hold the seat assembly in place comes loose, but there is no way to tighten it without unscrewing the wooden seat from the metal seat assembly. But, it looks pretty and is sturdy, so we didn't return it. But is it a misnomer to call this a swivel barstool - it spin freely the way you would expect it to.
Wish they had a similar chair in table height. They are great for my kids at our eat-in kitchen (30" counter height), but too tall for adults to sit there comfortably. Love the chairs, though.
