I bought this stool as a small table to hold my laptop in our newly redecorated living room. The stool is lovely and fits right in. I'm not particularly handy but it didn't take me long assemble it. I was pleased that it was so easy and looks much more costly. If I wanted a stool, I probably would want some padding, because this one would be a bit to hard for me. But as a small table, it's perfect.
