International Concepts was founded in 1979 in Greensboro, NC as an unfinished furniture wholesaler, providing furniture to retail stores throughout the Eastern United States. Initially International Concepts only purchased and resold furniture products, however, it soon became obvious that profits and sales could be increased by assembling some of the products at their own facilities.
In 1985, International Concepts moved to a 9,000 sq. foot facility in Jamestown, NC while continuing to wholesale unfinished furniture. In 1987 the company started importing chair components and assembling them to sell to unfinished furniture stores. That same year International Concepts moved from Jamestown to High Point, NC and leased a 24,000 sq. foot facility.
In 1990, the owners of International Concepts purchased a building in Thomasville, NC and the company moved again. The new building more than tripled available warehouse space. Finished furniture was added to the International Concepts lineup. In mid 1994, International Concepts purchased another large facility in Thomasville which brought total manufacturing, office and warehouse space to well in excess of 200,000 sq. feet.
By 1996, the finished furniture line became large enough to create it's own name, "John Thomas Furniture", and the growing volume of customers required that a new manufacturing facility be created. In 2000, International Concepts has almost 400,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space in North Carolina and Arkansas. WE looked all over and for the money these were the best stools we could find. they are exactly what we were looking for and they look great at my bar.

The stools showed up when promised, look like their picture on-line and slide easily under the kitchen island counter. We put felt chair protectors on the bottom of the legs and love how easily they move on hard wood.

I bought these because they showed the joinery, a mark of well-made wood products. Unfortunately, the joint marks are painted on, and the wood is not walnut. Buyer beware. The foot rungs wore through to bare wood in the first day, so I gave them two coats of polyurethane, and have had no further trouble with the finish. Great deal otherwise, as they look great.

I use it in my very stylized office and it has brought that perfect understated, stylish, upscale look and feel to the finished look. I use it as a stool for my clients at my check out counter and at times will use it as a decorative plant stand. It looks beautiful and it is very sturdy. A phenomenal buy!

I shopped around locally and online and these barstools were the best deals I found, plus they are really nice quality and look great in my home. They are nice in an area that's kind if a tight squeeze (I have a passthrough window with a counter from my kitchen to den, and the stools are in the den side between a couch and a wall; it's not a large room, but they fit nicely). They are very sturdy and a great find.

The stools are made of solid wood and put together very well. They weren't as dark as I was expecting however they match our other kitchen furniture just fine. We scoured the web looking for the best deal and this website had it.
